Reiki

Reiki REI-KI (ray-kee) is a Japanese form of energy healing. The word translates to mean Universal Life Energy.

A non-invasive and gentle treatment, Reiki promotes relaxation and reduces anxiety, depression and stress through soft touch. It aims to help improve the flow of your energy, assist in the body’s natural healing processes and development of emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being. A Reiki treatment may create feelings of peace, relaxation, security and wellness.

Traditional Usui Reiki was developed in the 1920s by Mikao Usui in Japan as a spiritual practice (reiki, , may be translated as 'spiritual ki'). With Usui's help, one of his master students Chujiro Hayashi extracted the healing practices from the larger body of practices. There are many different types of Reiki, and similar energy healing methods can go back to ancient Egyptians.

Reflexology

Reflexology is the application of appropriate pressure to specific points and areas on the feet, hands, or ears. Reflexologists believe that these reflex points correspond to different body organs and systems, and that pressing them creates real benefits for the person's health.

One of the most interesting aspects of the history of Reflexology is the evidence of the use of foot massage in ancient Egypt.

A intriguing depiction was found in the Tomb of Ankhamor, which shows a picture of people giving reflexology on the hands and feet with a inscription "Don't hurt me.", and the practitioner replies, "I shall act so you praise me." The tomb is also known as the Tomb of the Physician because of the many depictions of medical scenes, and it was discovered at Saqqara, Egypt in the nineteenth century. Ankhamor was known as ‘Vizier, First under the King, Overseer of the Great House’ and was one of the most important officials of the Pharoah, Teti.

It is important, because although there is plenty of anectdotal evidence for the use of Reflexology in ancient times, this is the earliest pictorial evidence we have.

Although reflexology is not used to diagnose or cure disease, millions of people around the world use it to complement other treatments when addressing conditions like anxiety, asthma cancer, treatment, cardiovascular issues. diabetes. headaches. kidney function, PMS, and sinusitis. Massage therapists manipulate larger areas of soft tissue in the body while reflexologists apply pressure to specific points on the feet, hands, and ears.

  • Ear Reflexology or Auriculotherapy is the stimulation of the auricle of the ear to help improve health conditions in other parts of the body. It was originally based on the ancient Chinese practices of acupuncture and acupressure, which are two ancient healing methods still currently in use.

The Western theory explains when stress occurs in a part of the body, irritating chemicals form around nerve endings in reflexes in the outer ear, which relate to the stressed part of the body. These irritations are called blockages or congestion which can slow the flow of bioelectric current through the nerves. The Chinese theory says the six yang meridians are directly connected to the auricle and the six yin meridians were indirectly connected to the auricle by their corresponding yang meridian.

Ear reflexology can induce deep relaxation and is a great addition to foot reflexology treatments.

Flower essences

The powerful intelligence of nature
Since time immemorial, healers and ancient wisdom keepers have been aware of the powerful intelligence that is embedded in nature.

The Australian Aboriginals have always known the secrets of how to use flowers, water and sunlight to facilitate holistic wellbeing. As did the ancient Egyptians and Native Americans. They followed very specific processes and protocols when collecting dew from flowers, and there has been a tradition of using the energies of plants in the form of vibrational medicine in India, Asia, Europe and South America.

Hildegard Von Bingen in the 12th century and Paracelsus in the 15th century wrote about how they collected dew from flowering plants to address health imbalances and assist with natural healing. Dr Edward Bach, the pioneer of modern-day flower essences, developed the range of 38 Bach remedies in the 1930’s.

Flower essences are the blueprint (vibrations/plant energy) held in water. First Light Flower Essences of New Zealand®, are very unique with over 185 different essences. Taking drops daily assist holistically bringing the being into balance and alignment by taking on the information stored in the water, entering the system via our cells and consciousness.
